Phoenix Weighing Services operates a team of dedicated, highly trained, field service engineers. Our mobile units are fully equipped with an extensive range of spare parts to give our customers the quality of service and quick response which they demand.
A large part of or business, includes carrying out scheduled calibration checks and planned maintenance of customers’ weighing equipment. From experience, each of the varied industries serviced by PWS, has it’s own unique requirements in relation to calibration and maintenance. With this in mind, we adopt a flexible approach to our Service Level Agreements, tailoring them to best suit the customers’ needs.
PWS holds a database showing months of visit for all sites and dates of previous calibrations, along with other site-specific information and requirements. Our engineers will liaise directly with the plant operator a few days before the next calibration is due, to personally arrange the service visit. We fully understand the demands of the industry sectors within which we operate, and work is often carried out during shut-down or out of hours, in order to minimise disruption to production.
Written procedures for calibrations are issued by PWS and all calibrations carried out in accordance with relevant BSI / QSRMC regulations and UK Weighing Federation Codes of Practice. All our personel are fully trained and hold current SPA ‘Passports to Health and Safety’. Scales are tested either with calibrated hydraulic pull/push rigs or test weights and substitute material on each visit, as preferred by our clients. All our mobile workshops are equipped with 500kg of test weights in addition to push/pull verification devices.
Contact and Support
PWS may be contacted from 7.00am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 2.00pm Saturdays. Outside these hours we operate a voicemail service. All engineers are equipped with mobile phones, the numbers of which are made freely available.
We actively encourage our customers to call and discuss any concerns regarding their weighing equipment and in all cases will offer technical advice over the phone in order to resolve problems wherever possible. This support service is freely available to all our contract customers.
